We bought this planting/weeding machine from a fabricator in Vermont. We are really looking forward to putting it to work next year. Who said laying down on the job is a bad thing?
The snow makes it really fun to try to find and dig parsnips
Cozy chickens.

You may have noticed the lack of salad greens in your CSA shares. Sorry about this. We have still been so busy harvesting and dealing with the cold weather that we didn't get the greenhouses pulled over the newly planted greens. I think we need to figure something else out for next year. I'm not sure they would have grown anyway with the early onset we had of cold weather and basically no sunny days for the past 2 months.

Yes it is ginger harvest-time!

And habanadas too! Find these sweet, no-heat habaneros at market!

We have one lonely chick that was hatched on the farm recently. We hope it makes it...there are many factors working against this little chick from playful dogs to hungry wildlife to oncoming colder weather.

Well, in case you haven't seen them here are some of the flood photos from Muddy Fingers Farm. These are the beds of newly planted radishes and turnips that got washed out. We plan to fill in the gullies made in these beds with, probably, wood chips, manure and compost but we won't get around to that until later this year.
On Tuesday morning from about 2 or 3 AM through 8 AM we received almost 9 1/2 inches of rain. This is our road just downhill from our house.
And here it is a little farther down. Crews worked for 3 days and now the road is open but it is still a mess.
 Sad radish seedlings.
And now for some happier photos...Wati eating edamame leaves and Gemini eating carrots. Ebony (goat) and Luna in background.
 Yeah tomatoes!
Daikon radishes hanging on the edge of the cliff
This clump of tomatoes was so heavy it fell off while we were pruning and trellising them.
Onions before harvesting. A pretty good crop this year. We just hope they don't all rot in storage from being too wet!!
