These are Cape gooseberries. They are similar to husk cherries but slightly bigger and different taste. Give them a try and let us know what you think!
For those of you who love the Red Long of Tropea onions, we will have them this week and maybe next, but they are almost gone.
If you have been missing our pea shoots, this is why. We are not sure why but the seeds have been rotting in the trays. We are trying to determine the cause.
Its been a good summer for carrots. Having our prone weeder has really helped to get them weeded in a timely manner.
Our newest toy - the 8 burner Pyroweeder (without the propane tank). This will enable us to flameweed a whole bed at once. Until now we have only had a 1 burner flameweeder. Flameweeding lets us kill weeds when they are very small. We kill weeds this way before planting seeds or after planting (but before the seeds we plant actually germinate!)

Expected options (Small share choose 8, large share choose 10):
Green peppers
Husk cherries
Cape gooseberries (like big husk cherries)
Cutting Celery
Eggplant

Pickling cucumbers
Squash/Zucchini

The heirloom tomatoes are really kicking in now! Enjoy them while they last.

Both of our families took a vacation to Ocean City, NJ last weekend (hence no newsletter blog). Here we are getting sick on the Tilt-A-Whirl.
 The boardwalk at dusk.

Our favorite miniature golf course at the beach.

This is cutting celery. Too tough for salads but nice used as an herb in cooking.
